I was just looking at a chart online of power ratings for coaxial cables since I'm putting up a new antenna.
I was considering using RG 58 or 59 as the feedline instead of RG 8. Since I will be using a linear, I wanted
to check on the power ratings.
Is the chart correct in stating that RG 58 and 59 will handle a KW? The chart gives that rating at 10 mhz.
RG 8 rating is 1500 watts at 10 mhz.
If this is correct, I'll go with the 58 or 59 because I have a whole spool of those, but not as much of the 8.
