A quick Google search shows that you may need to have an intermediate
adapter. (i.e. you are right - they are hard to find) The 2.5mm is called
a sub-mini more micro min jack - They are common on cell phones.
(The more common ones are 3.5mm and are easier to find.)

Subject: [Boatanchors] 2.5mm to 1/4 Phone Jack Needed
I have a 2.5mm Stereo Plug that needs to plug into a 1/4" Stereo Jack (cheap
headphones for old radio). I have searched for these and am thinking they
don't exist.
Anyone seen anything like that ? As a last resort I will amputate the 2.5mm
plug, but I really don't want to do that yet.
Tnx, Dick, W1KSZ
