I'm sorry about your loss.

I don't know about directly downloading the digital files. It should be
possible, but may require specialized hardware.

If you can play the voicemail as audio, and listen to it, you should be
able to couple to the audio via a magnetic pickup on the earphone, or via
a microphone attached to the earpiece. Radio Shack might still have the
former.

Either of those outputs would then go to an audio input bto your 'puter or
a recording device.
