[Boatanchors] Drake 2B Dial Skirt

Finished restoring my Drake 2B. I have two questions

The manual says when the main tuning knob dial skirt is pressed in,  the
dial will slip and let you align the dial with the 100 Kc calibrator signal.

Mine does not slip.   I don't think I goofed up on reassembly;  the spring
goes on,  then the skirt, then the tuning knob.

So....   what am I doing wrong?

The other question is clarification on the alignment and I'll post
separately.
