[Boatanchors] Cleaning and polishing steel chassis?

There are any number of good grease, dirt and nicotine solvents. Ive used
Greased Lightning on both of my 129's and for several customer sets. Then
warm soap and water on the dials.

The 129 steel coating gets blotchy with time and enviroment and the only
thing that worked well for me was a light abrasive metal polish used in the
collector car area. The end result was a big improvement on many and near
perfection on a few others.

I didnt want to try Brasso and the US version is now rather useless anyway.
I picked up plenty of the good stuff in Canada before they followed suit and
use it in other places.
