The problem with the newer Weller guns is that the trigger switch goes south pretty easily.  The gun itself holds up.  But, with a bad switch it doesn't work!

I have acquired a couple of replacement switches and those hold up for a couple of years and then go south again.  Even though I do live in a "southern state" (Texas), the switch goes much further south!  :>)
