David:
I'm surprised to hear they are stocking Weller stuff.
I've had bad luck with their house marked brand irons. The 30w handles on
the rack for under $10. I've had two of them and both died in 5 weeks of
moderate use. They wouldn't refund me because they were out side the 30 day
warranty. They also told me I was beating them todeath because the tips
were discolored and had solder on them. That's what you get when you buy
tools from a cell phone company. Big lots stocks a $4 red handled 30 w that
last two or three times as long.
I'm not knocking your purchase at all, I just don't buy anything from RS
unless they have me over a barrel. I have a 100 Watt Anmerican Beauty
wooden handled iron that is so old it has a cloth power cord on it. Still
works fine.
Ebay and Amazon are much cheaper for the smaller handles.
