[Boatanchors] HAMMARLUND HC-10 Prices

The cosmetics are the most important price factor for vintage gear. If you plan to sell it rather than use it I wouldn't put a lot of money into electronic restoration.
The HC-10 is an excellent addition to many vintage receivers. I use mine with a TMC GPR-90 since it is pretty lousy on SSB without it and the HC-10 also greatly improves AM under poor conditions. The HC-10 (and the much more expensive SPC-10) is simply the final IF, detector, AGC, and audio system out of the HQ-170 series receiver and will work well with any vintage receiver with a 455 (or close) IF. I just finished stripping the necessary parts out of an HQ-170 carcass in order to build a replica SPC-10 to go with my SP-600. I am now learning about using the decal making set I purchased last year to make the front panel labels via computer, laser printer, and hot lamination device.

Thanks for all the responses. I have one that I plan to restore -- new
power supply cap --but exterior cosmetically 9 or so..
I had a feeling that the mid to low end price range was really what it
was worth. I just wondered what would be fair to ask in case I end up
selling it in light of a possible move in the next year or so.
