The only 270 rationale Im aware of was a quick and dirty response to the
Drake 2A/2B. None are on my want list. I suspect they were gun shy about a
ham band only set after the 303.
The 190 is an upgrade of the 109 which isnt a bad radio. I havent touched a
190 for 30-40 years but was an OK SWL mid level ham set.
