[Boatanchors] AC Connections

Hello:

I'm working on an old (1945) audio amplifier that I'm going to use as a speech amp.

The unit works just fine, sounds good into a speaker, with no hum.

It uses a terminal strip for all connections, including the AC in, which was for only two wires, no ground.

I want to put a three wire line-cord on it, but I'm having trouble deciding which terminal the hot lead should go to.

According to the schematic, the AC in is fused on one leg and switched on the other leg. There is a .1 mfd oil to ground on the fused side, after the fuse.

The AC in, after the fuse in one leg, and after the switch in the other, goes directly to the main power transformer and no place else.

Which leg should I attach the hot wire to?
