hi Phil,
I just did a google search on "8 inch speaker replacement" and turned
up a lot of hits, from spkrs to rebuild kits, etc. Amazon came up with
quite a selection, some 8" 2 & 3-way spkrs for $20-40.
try <http://preview.tinyurl.com/2whl4cm> I'd think that any 2 or 3 way
would sound fine. I used one a few yrs ago that I found NIB at a
hamfest, it sounded good to me, but I'm deaf in 1 ear, & can't hear
outta the other. Didn't look for anything like that at Shelby last
wkend, but probably could have found something, wish I had thought of
you, I knew you were looking.
I supposed a "voiced for guitar" spkr would sound good too, you'll be
feeding a more narrow freq. range than they get from a guitar, I'd
think. Don't know just what "voicing" is, maybe peaks at lower freqs?
or higher?
I hope you can find something acceptable that's reasonable.
