What a complete crock! If the 6AG7 and 6146 are new I'll eat them. Being an 
audiofool Im suprised he even knew what a couplate is, musta had someone 
tell him. With so many other components changed whats so sacred about 2 
couplates? Maybe he couldnt find the schematic for them.....

While I'm all in favor of a free market system, I also believe even more so 
in
buyer beware. Look at item 300463606665 and at the unmentionable place. A
friend of mine sold it at Boxboro. I had looked at it and the restoration 
work
he had done. This is the same radio. Nothing has been reworked buy
the seller other than a possible alingment and his superior tube testing. It
is exactly as rebuilt buy the previous owner. I should know as I considered
buying it! Anyone have any dealings with him? Perhaps he is a Martyn clone?
His ad copy rivals his! Neither I nor the previous owner have any grudge
against someone trying to make a buck reselling something but if you take 
credit
for anothers work, how can you be trusted in other matters? The HQ-170 he is
selling came from the same seller at Boxboro. I will note that he makes no
similar claims on that item. For your digestion and decision but thought it
worth passing it on.
