[Boatanchors] Tech Tips: Should I Post Them?

Duane -

Thanks for the kind offer. While having these available as a single,
searchable volume of work would be very helpful I'm sure, I fear they might
get "lost" if posted here on an intermittent basis. How likely is it that
I'll need the tip on the SX-117 alignment on the day it's posted?

Any chance of creating a single, downloadable file?

I have a chance to purchase an HP300 distortion analyzer. What would be a
reasonable price to pay and it is something a boat anchor enthusiast would
want?

Hi Gang:

I have a nice clean original manual for the HQ-110 receiver that is
surplus to my needs. It is in very nice condition but there is some
indication that the manual was exposed to dampness as the cover shows
some SLIGHT staining.

I am asking $30.00 for it including shipping anywhere in the USA. If
interested please reply by e-mail.

Its only good to look at, the later ones are actually usable, the 334A for
example.

Hello - I have a Super Pro SP-600JX which as an addition which I am
guessing may have been a repair depot add-on.

Their is a switch in the lower left hand corner where the limiter switch
is on an unmodified unit. This switch is than wired to a 4 tube module
under the chassis.

The switch has the the following positions - off, AF Lim, Voice and CW.

Has anyone seen this mod before and if so what exactly is it?

Here are links to the three photos:

IMO, it's far more an antique than a usable instrument. More modern units
go for <$50.

if the one I had, had not been stored in an NW Oregon barn as in the
wooden case was rotted and the insides rusty
I would have kept it and turned it into a end table. Just like a some
of the GR stuff I have mostly only for looks.

It's an instrument more commonly used by audio designers than radio
designers.

Hi All,

Over the years I have selected various technical tips, repair techniques,
trouble shooting methods etc. and saved them in my BA-TECH directory. They
apply to Hallicrafters, as well as boat anchors in general. I am wondering
if I should start posting several of them each week here for all to read. As
well as post them on the Hallicrafters web site in their own area?

There are over a thousand of these tech tips in my directory. So they cover
a lot of rigs and a whole lot of topics!

I am wondering if enough of you would be interested in having this
information available to justify the time I would have to devote to making
it happen? If the interest is there, I would be more then glad to do the
work. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Anybody have a link to a place where I can find out more about programming
the TYT VF1 144/440 Mhz FM radio? The manual isn't very well translated and
I can't figure out the programming it seems!
