Well it works sorta like a meter. And when the pointer gets all the way
to the right it closes a contact. Then a magnet holds it there, and
the red and black wires from the central core are to free it from the
magnet. Reason for the magnet is that you don't want the contacts
bouncing and arcing, so once they close they will stay closed until you
reset the mechanism.
