[Boatanchors] Metric system?

I get annoyed when Talking Heads mention Knots/Hour.
A Story:
Years ago (early 1950s) an airforce officer was toureing the first plane
with an Inertial Navigation System (Project Spire) and bitched about a
meter marked Knots/Hour. Doc Darper gently informed him the legend was
correct... the meter showed cross-track acceleration in knotts/hr.
