[Boatanchors] TMC History

I'm the guy Todd spoke of with the GPR-90 and GPT-750. Truly great radios and the absolute last I'd ever get rid of. I also have the matching TMC remote tuner, vertical antenna, and big double-movement SWR meter.
Collins may have had the decided edge in engineering and new features, but TMC is several notches above Collins in quality. I've had 10 or so GPR-90s and GPR-91s over the years and never had to fix a one. The GPR-90 isn't the best performing receiver out there, but it's definitely up there and I'm betting you'd never have to work on it.
The search is part of the fun!

Glad to hear that you've heard from both! You are in good hands with
any info they pass your way.
A friend in MD runs a GPT-750 and GPR-90, they are truly excellent
rigs. There's a good article in ER this month which you've probably
already read on the same, though the receiver is actually a GPR-91X or
such.
There's a lot of the stuff out there, folks just like to hang onto it.
I'm sure you'll find plenty when you start beating the bushes and
turning over rocks.
