I also remeber the movie as a British ruse to dupe the Germans into thinking 
an invasion was pending, at a place and/or time where it in fact wasn't.
I didn't recall which invasion, but I can see others have pointed it out
to be Sicily and not Normandy. (Vaguely, recall that it wasn't Normandy.)
I do rememeber the movie as being very gripping -- that's
why I asked about it.
