Or an unhealthy one dependent on point of view.  Neither one has been
updated for a while since I've been busy elsewhere so here's where I am now.
These are excerpts from two separate emails:

"Sorry I haven't been too communicative of late.  Actually, I've not been
thinking about radio so much as setting up a video micro-studio in my new
digs.  Noelle has to start chemo just to keep her alive by taking advantage
of one of the side effects, that being knocking down her autoimmune system.
This has a lot of downsides to it like further weakening her heart and
making a common cold a fatal illness but she's a fighter and is willing to
take those risks.  

"She asked me a while ago to send her videos and MP3s for support and at the
time I figured a webcam and normal computer mic would suffice.  Since each
chemo session will be two hours long, this becomes something entirely new so
I'm building up a micro-studio in my micro-digs including chroma key
capabilities, significantly better audio & video, proper lighting, and
everything else I can manage.  Sadly that won't include soundproofing but
I'll do what I can.

"Since I used to compose on a computer, I have a lot of audio software to
which I've added a bunch as open source packages have come out.  Audio is
not a problem.  Video is.  There is open source video software and I'll be
using some of it but there are no non-linear video processors that can
handle what I need to do.  For now, I'll be using Cyberlink's PowerDirector
8 until I can afford Adobe Premiere Elements which does all I need without
the cost of full Premiere.  The former has a grand total of 16 tracks - 10
video, 4 audio and 2 effects - on a timeline and the latter 99 each video
and audio (which, granted, I'll never use since even 16 will be more than
I'll need in many cases) but the latter is a far better editor and will
allow me more freedom to create work for her.  

"There will be video, voice, music and both visual and audio subliminals in
the videos and everything except the video (obviously) in the MP3s.
Everything will be designed/written to be supportive and to let her have
Daddy there with her even though my being so physically isn't in the cards
right now.  Aside from music composition, I'll be drawing on previous
experience in both video production and live theater for this as well as in
hypnosis, previous (and quite effective) use of subliminals and an
understanding of the emotional effects of music.  Pretty much, I'm drawing
on everything I know as to creative effort into this along with my heart and
soul.  

"Noelle is my top priority so pretty much everything else has to step aside
until I have this well in hand.  Those of you with offspring - especially
daughters - can probably understand this.  I'm losing my little girl but not
without a fight on both our parts."

That's from the first one, and this is from the second:

"Am I bitter and angry?  Yes, I am.  Those and a whole lot of other things.
I'm also tired, frustrated, severely depressed, plagued by nightmares and
other wonders of a life gone rotten, and if it weren't for a promise I made
to Noelle I would have checked out long ago.  I don't mind making these
productions for her; what I seriously object to is why they're needed.
She's had enough BS in her life and she deserves a break and to be happy for
a change.  But that's not going to happen and that is a major cause for me
to be bitter and angry.  No, I'm well past them into a place that defies
description but makes Hell look like a Sunday school picnic."

"A major cause" but not the only major cause since there are several.  

There are several projects that will be kept alive to give me time to back
away from the productions so I can plan the next ones.  One is, of course,
my infamous Timex watches.  Another is a set of all submini tube line amps
and mixers, and a set of computer speaker amps, preferably OTL, using
subminis and minis.  The last is a 20m or higher SSB rig using all 1930s
breadboard technology although I'll need one each parts or pervert
SCR-A*-183/-283 Tx & Rx including coil sets to complete it.  

Do I think anyone read this?  Absolutely not.  Probably no one did.  Oh,
well.
