[Boatanchors] WTB: Xtals (even mHz)

Dragging out crystals from the '40s, one in particular that I happen to
have for the "Beastly" BC-610, is in its original box and wrapping that
shows a date of 1943, has on it the frequency 3550, which is "stamped"
or some would say engraved, and it is followed by the manufacturer's
dataplate where the letters are "raised" and the background is "sunken"
slightly, and they marked it "KC" then.

I see this on FT-171s AND FT-243s. Some of those in the real small
holders don't have anything other than the number, such as "23.3333"
stamped into the top of the tiny can.

The "supposition" that an uppercase "K" is only for Kelvin, is
preposterous. I don't see reference to color temperature which IS
measured in Kelvin, having anything to do with radio.

I "think" that the use of KHz or kHz is simply what happens to get
used. I see them interchanged amongst the manuals in pieces of
equipment that is all SS. Especially when I look at the segments that
refer to alignment.

I don't think that there is "one" definitive answer.

Just "my" $0.02, and worth what you pay for it.
