Hello Brian,
I said nothing against the metric system.
What I said concerned the Hertz.
The Cycle was in common usage for over 100 years.
Cycle, Kilo Cycle (KC), Mega Cycle (MC).
Very simple, no spelling problems.
Even a layman understands what a cycle is.
The Hertz was not adopted until 1960, and did not
start to be in common usage until the 1970s.
Spelling issues: kHz? Khz? KHZ?
Ask a layman what Hertz means: A company that rents cars.
How you feel when you are sick. Etc.
