Another resource for the 5/8x24 nuts, thin ones, is the audio industry. They
are used on mic stands and mounts.  Usually knurled type but some are hex.
Just a -Hints and Kinks- thing to "file away".

For all who asked, it is a standard SO-239 5/8 inch with 24 thread. I 
may have found a ham locally who has the nuts. Thanks for all the 
replies. Also, please excuse my expression of dissatisfaction with 
Mouser. They did not deserve that. They have been very good to me in 
the past many years. My only excuse is I had a bad day. Sorry.
