[Boatanchors] Globe Scout Chirp

To clarify, what I really wanted to know was whether the 680 chirped as
received from the factory ( or as built by the kit builder ).  Never having
owned one and not recalling how they were viewed in the 50's, I don't know
whether they had a design flaw so that most of them chirped or whether mine
just chirps because of a problem.  Has anyone owned one of these that did
not chirp on 40M?

I think too much drive was mentioned by one op, but my drive won't go above
2 ma on 40M anyway.
