I called DigiKey this morning (Sunday) and was pleasantly surprised to speak 
to a service representative and a technician in Minnesota - "You betcha."

I was told that they ship 16,000 packages a day by UPS.  The owner of the 
company started the business in his garage and he still lives in Thief River 
Falls, population 10,000.

The company employs over 2,000 people and hires school kids during the 
summer.

Most of their parts come from Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan - not China!

Nice folks - those DigiKey people.
