I figure, things have progressed to the point that somebody
has a little package with four contacts:
"Vcc," "Gnd," "FM IF In" and "Audio Out"
with no more than three or four bypass caps or so external.
Don't laugh... they have some amazing stuff today.
Too bad you can't solder to most of it.
"The Borg" are ubber-villains from the "Star Trek" universe,
against whom "resistance is futile."
They are beings like you and I who have been
"implanted" with cybernetic devices, giving them differing types
of enhanced powers and utilities, and are linked together
as a collective mind.
A "Borg Implant" in the boatanchor context is a small circuit,
non-destructively "implanted" in a BA, which permits
the radio to operate other than originally intended.
For instance- a small board "implant",
wired-in without real damage to the original circuit,
that would crystal-control a TBY,
or allow FM reception from an originally AM-only radio
are examples of BA "Borg Implants"
