Thank you everybody. I found a simple 88.5Hz tone generator circuit
using a single 567 integrated circuit. It can be built less than about $1 parts.

Probably, the best solution is to buy a module intended for this
purpose. Search on "CTCSS encoder" Yes, you could cobble something
together, but there are a LOT of problems to be overcome. - 73, Al
