Hello, All:
I just picked up a "Varitran V" bench power supply, with no manual.
I brought it home and, since it uses oil capacitors, turned it on. It works!
It has two meters. The one on the left is 0 to 500 volts DC. The one on the right has two scales, 0 to 150 ma and 0 to 15 ma.
I measured, with an external meter, very close to what the panel meter read, all the way to 500 volts.
The current meter works into a resistor, as well. According to Ohm's law, it's very close.
Right in the center-top of the front panel is a loudspeaker. I'm assuming it's some sort of warning device. It did not make it's presence known.
I'm wondering if anyone knows much about this heavy thing? Or, where to get a manual?
I've been looking for a bench power supply and this should be just Jim-Dandy!
