[Boatanchors] Expecting a 'new arrival' here (Scott RB-2)

SORRY All,
The receiver in question is the RBO-2, NOT the RB-2. I knew this when I
sent the post, but for some reason the "O" didn't make it into the model
number. If it was "L"s that were missing, it would be understandable as
the L and ' keys on this wireless keyboard often doesn't 'produce'
without repeatedly pressing them or hitting them extra hard. Put it down
to "old age" I guess. . .
Anyway, the RBO-2 didn't make it down here yesterday, just as well. With
my back problems, my wife (she who must be obeyed ;-) was rather upset
when I told her I was expecting the arrival of a 104 pound boatanchor
(weight of the radio in it's cabinet)! Of course, as usual, she's right,
I need to concentrate on smaller things. I've been doing a lot of work
on the solid state Zenith TO series lately, including the 7000-2 (last
ZTO model produced) which has a tendency to "lose their balls" (the
detent ball bearings in the band switch mechanism). I STILL want to get
a couple "glow in the dark" radios again, but that will have to wait
until the right ones come along (read that as manageable size/weight),
and the limited finances permit. I got my two Zenith 7000-2's by
agreeing to overhaul a couple Royal 7000 models (like my Royal 7000) in
exchange.

While I don't necessarily disagree with Drew's "tip", especially as the
mod is already done, the Navy RB-2 dates to 1923, long before the 6V6
came out. And covers 10-100 KC. What receiver are you actually getting?
