I have a couple of patents on which I also didn't get a single cent. They were developed at my place of employment and I also signed an agreement concerning patents. In the copyright law there is a similar arrangement called "writing for hire". That is where writing specific documents is a function of one's job and there is an agreement that the copyrights belong to the employer. Just one example of this are the Heathkit manuals which were copyrighted by the company and not by the author. However, freelance writing is NOT "writing for hire".
I realize that you have your own agenda and that you don't care much, if anything, about copyright law. However, there are quite a number of people besides me who do care about copyright law. Anyway, enough said.

Sorry Glen, but I dont feel sorry for you over such a piddling matter. How about either just accepting it and not punish the list any longer OR find a> shyster and run with it.
OTOH I hold a few patents which were assigned to the companies I worked for and never got a penny. It was all part of the employment contract. Some serious money was involved but there was nothing I could do about it except frame and stare at them. That didnt work and I put them in a file cabinet and moved on.
