I have decided it's time to sell some of my boat anchor gear. I have
for sale a Collins R-390 receiver and CV-591A SSB converter. I have
owned these two pieces of gear since 1972 and used them with a Johnson
Invader 2000. They are in working condition but probably could benefit
from a thorough going through and alignment. The CV-591A LSB BFO
crystal is off frequency. I use the manual tuning on LSB. Included in
the package will be 3 spare modules; IF, PTO, crystal deck for the
R-390, and manuals for both the R-390 and CV-591A. I don't know
anything about the spare modules. I bought them as spares and have
never tested or used them.

There are some paint scratches along the top edge of the R-390 which
have been touched up with a lighter shade of gray Done before I got the
receiver. It didn't affect the performance of the receiver so I never
refinished the panel. The metal fascia of the carrier level meter was
damaged in one of my many moves around the country. The meter itself
was not hurt and I straighten the fascia as best I could rather than
spend $75 or so for a new meter. The top and bottom covers were lost in
another of the moves but I have a reproduction top cover. I have all of
the IREC tube shields.

The ballast tube burned out some time ago. I replaced the 6BA6's in the
PTO and BFO with 12BA6's and put a jumper in the ballast tube socket.
The 26Z5 rectifiers have been replaced with plug-in Weber Copper Top SS
rectifiers. All of the 47 ohm 2W cathode resistors have been replaced
with 5W metal film resistors. There is a thermal surge resistor in the
AC line. I operate the R-390 with a small blower directed on the
voltage regulator tubes to keep the temperature down.

I am asking $1000 for the package and definitely prefer pick up from
Clearwater, FL as these things are heavy and not easy to pack.
Considering the cost of packing and shipping, it's worth a couple of
hundred mile drive to pick it up. The radio is mounted in a 6 ft. Bud
cabinet on casters which will be included if the purchaser wants it.

Pictures and additional information available on request.
