Thank you to everyone who replied with suggestions!
    I did completely recap (electrolytics and older paper types) the receiver. All of the tubes are NOS tested on TV-7, but I do realize I need to verify that there are no issues involving tubes themselves. I have only had the radio playing into the matching R-48 speaker. The hum does increase in amplitude as the audio gain is increased. I have yet to check hardware, but as some have mentioned I believe this set has some riveted connections.
    So, I appreciate the suggestions and I will start digging around some more.
