No, not kidding at all.  Really happened.  Probably some of the other 
guys here remember seeing the ads, probably a year or two ago.  Was on 
eBay, if I remember correctly.  I think he was asking something like 
$50.00 each for his "cleaned up" 6L6's - could have the numbers wrong, 
but it was something like that.,
