Come on up John. Ive been going there since the late 60's which was before
they got use of the fairgrounds. Only missed when I was living in IL for a
few years or out of the country on business. Its been held at several
locations over the decades.....long story.

Truthfully Im still amazed it was even there. Im not one to miss my beauty
rest and a leisurely breakfast before heading out for the bit over 1hr drive
on 2 lane back roads. It was 11AM by the time I got inside after spending a
long eyeball QSO at the gate with Bob, W1NH, a neighbor when I lived in
Raymond in the late 60's. Considering the higher asking prices for other 32V
and 75A stuff there that was junk by comparison.

My only dissapointment was not getting the late model GPR-90. The
consolation prize was a super clean, recapped HQ-129X with a new panel for
$75, plus the SP-400 for $25, SX-17 for $20, etc. (-; Remember the $50
SX-28 from 2008?

Its impossible to go to Nearfest without coming home with goodies. Thats why
you guys make the long trek up.
