What you are looking for is a C-3428/ARC-38A control box. Most, if
not all, were modified from the original C-1398/ARC-38 control box for
the AM/CW AN/ARC-38.
Reason I bring this up, is that if you should happen to come across
an unmodified C-1398, me(and some others as well) would be willing to
trade a C-3428 for it. I have an RT-311/ARC-38, and the newer box works
on it, but with some limitations as to mode selection. The frequency
selection section is identical between the two.
The C-1398 was listed in the Fair Radio catalog eons ago, but now
is pretty scarce.
One of the rountuit projects is to look into modifying the box
I have back to a C-1398, knowing full well that once I do that, and
not before, a C-1398 will turn up.
