There is the possibility that an insert is available, too. I was just looking over my aftermarket pack (BP-8 maybe?) Which is well used. The old Icom cases should be a breeze to operate on.

Although it was a good radio, it is 30 years old and the cost of a new
battery is more than the radio is worth. I bought one new in 1980 when
they first came out. The radio has no PLL so may be a problem with most
repeaters.

If you do plan to use it, most battery stores can rebuild the battery
pack for you.

Finding a "good" used battery for a 30 year old radio may prove to be
difficult.

Good luck,
