[Boatanchors] Collins 51J-4 ferrite tuning cores

If there's wire left on the slugs and it's just broken off the screw, just solder it back on.  That's how it was attached in the first place.  You should still have enough adjustment range with the screw; if not, splice on a few more mm of wire.

Yes Ian I was hoping to do the glue thing but when I aimed the torch in there, 
they were gone.  Just the short stub attached to the screw and wire left.  Heard 
a fwe signals on some bands but many deaf.  Looks like it will be a long term 
project or at last resort get parted out.
