I saw the Apex/Cary areas getting clobbered this past week. A lot of
cloud to ground lightning. I'm just north in the Franklinton/Wilton
area here. We had the worst T-storm I've ever witnessed (and I've seen
a few) come through here maybe a month ago. Took out the
cable/internet/phone splitter, one phone, and tripped the GFI breaker
in my garage radio area. Next thing on my list if it ever gets below
'sweltering' on the thermometer again is to add additional protection.
Y'all get a lot of lightning here.

Not as much as Warren, though. My wife is from Tampa and I almost
ended up there. It is indeed the lightning capital of North America.
And boy, do those afternoon storms roll in off the Gulf like
clockwork. If memory serves me, right around 4:30 pretty much every
day.
