Indeed, Carl, all is forgiven with the NBS-1 - still kick myself for holding off though!

Would be great to have you join the gang for the dinner.  Lotsa fun to be had by all (or most, unless you're stuffing your face with salad)

He got a couple other guys too, Rob 'AEX was one as I recall. Once he
realized Rob didn't recognize him, the show started.

I remember him showing up at Deerfield or Rochester one time with a
crew cut during his 'Sgt Anderson' phase. He was running a PDM rig
then with some kinda processing that let him vary the pitch of his
voice so low that he sounded like an old drill sergeant.

IIRC, Johnny saw that NB1-S early on but made that mistake we all make
of waiting until the next round. It was early, we'd all just gotten
hooked up and started the first tour. When he came back, you were
loading it up. That's a rare event for 'JN, you're right. Not only
does he have excellent stuff for sale on his table, he has an
incredible knack for finding stuff. Like the Meissner receiver and $40
Zenith Walton Tombstone he snagged at Hopkinton in '06.

I've slowed down a lot in my acquisitions simply due to time and space
here at the new place. Trying to tie up all the loose ends and clear
out previous projects, as well as building a supply of tubes and parts
actually needed for the rigs kept. I focus more on trinkets now, like
the 4 NOS Amphenol 80MC2M connecters with sockets I snagged from a box
at Shelby for $4 total. Now and then something will show up like the
RCA AVR-11, and I never rule out the unexpected. But I've still got a
lot on my plate. So yes - there's a reason the 32V/75A2 and other
goodies were waiting when you arrived. Johnny wasn't there and I
wasn't buying. (o:

You need to come to the AM dinner with us in October. Friday night
6:30 or so at Johnson's. We had a couple dozen folks there last time,
was a lot of fun. And I'd all but lost my voice, even better!
