[Boatanchors] National NBS-1 (Special rack mount NC-183)

It has an extra IF stage.  The IF transformers have tertiary taps which are brought out to a second selectivity switch.  The AVC is also brought out to a rear panel connector.

I have one as does KM1H here on the list; there have been a few on eBay over the past year.

The variable selectivity is a huge improvement over the stock NC-183.

I friend of mine lugged home one of these home for me from the Utica NY flea.  
Other than being a rack mount radio with sexy black paint, what was special 
about these radios made for the N.B.S.?
