Hi Gary et al,
Thanks, mine isn't in quite as nice of condition as the one on that web
page (I wish it was ;-) It's S/N 827, and I suspect that it was built
in 1969 as that's the date code on the Xtals. It is still in quite
good condition though. The case is slightly warped and the front panel
very slightly bent in one corner (probably at the same time the spinner
was broken off the tuning knob, taking a fair sized chunk of knob with
it.

This one was basically a gift from a local ham who spotted it at a fest
for an almost give-away price (the owner had no idea what it was used
for), and he knew my interest in NDB's and other things "LF", and got it
for me. I did give him a couple things I had here that he liked,
including an active antenna for LF through shortwave bands. I'd built
it and it's the same unit that many of us use for NDBs and other
longwave/mediumwave work. He said the antenna works better than what
he'd been using.

It works well, although I had to do the usual DeOxit treatments etc,
then fix an intermittent meter movement. It would cut out if the panel
or meter was tapped. I found that carefully tightening up the nuts on
the back of the meter took care of it (it was internal to the meter, not
external).

While I hated to do it, I replaced the factory AC input connector
containing the integral line filter as I couldn't locate a proper power
cord. It had a two wire cord tacked on to the two AC pins and the first
time I plugged it in and started to connect the coax antenna lead
(connected to my station ground) it nearly threw me across the room.
The chassis was floating at nearly 60 Volts above ground (half the AC
line Voltage). I nibbled the round hole the connector had been in just
enough to put a computer type 3 wire power socket WITH internal filter
in it's place. Otherwise the set is entirely original!
