[Boatanchors] The old "6T9 one tube transmitter"

Anyone playing with or has played with the ARRL 6T9 "Novice 10 watt
transmitter" that used to be in the 1972-3 "Handbook" and was a staple of
the: "Understanding Amateur Radio" publication for some time?

I have one I'm fooling with buy I can only get 1-2 watts out of it! The
book says 6-7 watts!! I'm using a supply that delivers about 250 volts to
the rig. It has me stumped at the moment. I thought the "junk" RF chokes
were the culprits, but no, a new pair didn't solve the problem or help any.

The "big" shack is down and space inside in the bedroom is somewhat limited,
so I was fiddling with this thing for a easy to put together two stage CW
rig that would possibly generate at least 5-6 watts, but nada, so far.

Anybody out there build one and measure the output with a reliable
wattmeter?

Sandy W5TVW
