Now that that question has been satisfactorily answered...

Can someone explain why screen grid modulation is limited to fairly
low frequencies?  I was once involved in a project of transmitting a
fairly fast digital waveform at VHF.  Thought I could do it by screen
modulating an existing transmitter, but it turns out that the waveform
was too fast for that to work - as I later learned by reading in
some book that screen modulation is frequency limited.
