Sandy,

I had a Newmar marine battery charger on my sailboat that took a surge down 
the Edison branch line that fed our harbor. Several unmarked devices were 
blown as a result.

A call to their 800 number brought not only the schematic, but the parts I 
needed for a few dollars and some updated information on later additions to 
the circuit that made it much more bullet proof. If they're still in 
business, I'd try calling their tech service first. They were very friendly and 
helpful to me.
