[Boatanchors] 11 meter amps ? Re: [AMSWAP] FS: Panel Meters

About 14 years ago, or so, I bought a 1970's-vintage "Palomar 150" mobile
TUBE-type CB linear amplifier on eBay for thirty bucks...

I converted its output to 10-meters, added heat-dissipating fins to the
plate connectors, installed a 12 VDC cooling fan (removed from a junked
computer p.s.), and incorporated battery bias.

The result...?

A very FB "...pair of shoes" for my Radio Shack HTX-10 10-meter transceiver
whilst in the car---and a feature published article in "ELECTRIC RADIO"
magazine, too, no less.

Do NOT make the mistake of concluding that "...all things 11-meters" will,
indeed, end-up on that band, or on 10-meters illegally---it ain't
necessarily so!
