[Boatanchors] C70 & C80 Surge Protection for old BA Transformers - Information Available?

Im not comfortable with using those devices, they run very hot in use and 
are a potential failure part. Unless the filter cap values have been 
increased well beyond reason and the rectifier to SS the transformer should 
have no problem.

I run all my radios with either individual or a full bench bucking 
transformer that provides 110-113V to the radio. Excessive heat and 
operating current is the real transformer killer.
