[Boatanchors] AC line plug polarity

You will probably get plenty of answers to this some may be more specific.  I would think that the hot line should go to the therminal that is switched, the neutral line to the terminal that has the .1 cap.  I am assuming that the wires continue on to the primary of a transformer.  Now if a third wire, ground (green wire is added) connect it to the chassis close to where it enters the set.  If the neutral (fused line) is connected to chassis then you need to relocate the fuse to the hot line (same as the switched line).  Also you would be connecting neutral to ground in a location other than at the entrance panel, which is a no-no according to the NEC so you may want to just leave it the way it was designed.
