Hello Dee,

A friend of mine had a BTI LK2000HD and   I replaced the 3-1000Z with
a 3CX1500A7/8877. I replaced the original socket with the Eimac Socket and 
Chimney
Removed the filament choke and put a 0.75 ohm 75 watt resistor in series 
with the Xfmr secondary.
I put a 15Uhy choke from the cathode to the B-. The input impedence was the 
same, so no tuning was
necessory. I also put in a grid trip circuit anf a few other improvements.
This turned that Amp into a real Barn-Stormer.

The 3CX800s are hard to find. Alpha dumped them they were to expensive.
