_Spider_ silk, preferably from black widows (Latrodectus mactans), as it
is (or was) (really!) the preferred material for crosshairs because it is
about as fine as any natural fiber gets. The extreme fineness would require
much more material to be collected, and the nastiness of that species would
only elevate the price.
I can just see the ads now, for gold-plate-over-silver-plate
vacuum-distilled Oxygen-free copper, cryogenically-treated, in spider-silk
jackets, at $BIGNUM/inch. And the audi0ph00ls would buy it, too.
