I have a problem.... I need a new pair of 6550s. I have an extra pair of 
new Taylor KT-88s (glass way too big for project) that I would like to 
trade for pair of 6550s.

I use the KT-88s as modulators in the Valiant. Yes one has to rewire the 
sockets. The advantage of KT-88s over 6146s is the I get a little more 
power OP w/ MUCH less drive which has been perfect for my simple "Turbo 
Valiant" circuit. Of coarse, they work well in hi fi as well.
Any interest?
