You can find values for such rigs from a few years ago on my web site.
A Valiant between friends can go for any price from zero for dollars up.
If you are talking about "fair market value," then the only thing you can go by
is what has been seen in the way of asking and selling prices.
Most Valiants sell for around $300 to $500 with some exceptions for pristine
or "fully restored" units, which will include excellent cosmetics. However,
most of us don;t care for a "showroom new" looking transmitter, and so it is
questionable whether it;s worthwhile to pay hundreds of dollars extra to get a "perfect looking" rig.
Anyway - take a look at the resources on The Boatanchors Directory and
on The Boneyard Bluebook and see if you find them helpful!

Subject: [Boatanchors] Valiant value
Hi:
I have a ham friend here in town that has become interested in AM. He wants to buy one of my two Valiants.
Both the Valiants are working order and in decent cosmetic shape. One is in a bit better shape than the other cosmetically.
I don't want to hold the fellow up, nor do I want to give the rig away.
I don't have a clue as to what a Valiant is worth these days.
Does anyone here on the list know?
