[Boatanchors] Restoring markings on a Velvet Vernier dial

I have a couple of National Velvet Verniers with 4" Bakelite (or similar)
circular dial.
These are in fair condition except that the white paint for the numbers and
outer scale
markings has almost disappeared.

Is there a good way to restore these (I am not capable of re-lettering with
a fine brush,
if that is one option)?
